The challenge: Bank security made virtual

Building on decades of progress, DeLaRue has taken a cutting-edge approach to innovation, and in the process, has embraced the world of augmented reality. Having made significant advances in banknote security, they wanted to connect would-be customers with updated security features and designs for banknotes. However, they needed to do so without sending physical copies of bank notes.

This triggered the need for an interactive application that could scan images and artwork, to virtually demonstrate the look, feel, and function of DeLaRue’s latest advances in bank-note design.

And so, the “Currency: View” app was brought to life.

The Solution: Expert AR app, built to time and budget

The DeLaRue team decided to build their application with React Native, Expo, and ReactVision’s Viro library. This was to secure an iOS and Android application with AR capabilities on a single code base, to allow DeLaRue to reduce development time and costs.

However, DeLaRue lacked the depth of technical expertise needed to bring its vision to life and needed an agency partner who intimately understood the tech stack in the broader context of AR and VR technologies.
